What is EXHALE?

The EXHALE technical package is a set of six strategies that can help improve asthma control and reduce healthcare costs. It was developed by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Asthma Control Program (NACP) and its partners to inform decision-making in communities, organizations, and states.

When used together, the six EXHALE strategies provide an evidence-based framework for addressing asthma through education, clinical care, community support, and environmental approaches. The EXHALE technical package can be used in different settings and with people of all ages. Each letter in EXHALE stands for one of the six strategies.
